Daryl R Smith:About the Author...
Daryl was born and raised in Anderson, Indiana. He is a graduate of Anderson High School, Anderson University (BA - History and Political Science), and Ball State University (M.A. and EDS degrees - Elementary Education and School Administration.
Daryl taught fifth and sixth grades in Alexandria (IN), was an elementary school principal in Monticello (IN), and served as a county economic development director (Carroll Co, IN).
Throughout his educational and economic development years, Daryl maintained a passion written expression. He jotted lines, rhymes and poems whenever inspiration spoke. After retirement, he completed and compiled the works into his first book, A Quiet Night in June. It contains forty of his original poems and is topped off with seventeen of his personal illustrations.
Daryl also maintains his creative passion through his work with wood wall art. With his earth-friendly philosophy, he recycles / reuses many discarded and leftover wood pieces in his art. His work was recently selected for gallery exhibition by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation in Lafayette, IN. Check out his wood wall art here.
